Meet the team : Evan Panard

Evan Panard! Our rigging manager, the king of strings, who’s been at my side since I took over the IMOCA Fortinet – Best Western. One of the pillars of the team, he’s so precise and meticulous that we easily forget he’s only 24 years old…. Yes, he’s the youngest of the bunch!

Several months ago, Evan left Lorient and moved to Saint-Malo, closer to his family. However, he has decided to stay with the team and continues to come to the boatyard once a week, much to our delight.

One thing you should know about Evan is that he never, EVER, goes sailing without a packet of fresh crêpes. A true Breton 😂

His best memory with the Fortinet – Best Western team? Sailing in Lisbon in 2022, where we did a speed run on a foil with just the right amount of wind. And to top it all off, we passed under the mythical April 25 bridge ⛵

A bit of a flyer, Evan is always the one sent to the masthead to check the rigging and aerials. Suffice it to say that at 30 meters, it’s best not to be afraid of heights!
