Meet the team : Claire Montécot

How can I introduce Claire to you? For more than two years, she has masterfully managed logistics, administration, events and relations with the partners of the project Fortinet – Best Western.

She is a veritable Swiss knife, able to juggle every facet of the project. She masters all her subjects to perfection, and always with a huge smile on her face! She quickly became indispensable, allowing me to concentrate on my physical preparation and all the sporting aspects.

Her career began far from the docks, at biology college. She fell in love with the world of sailing during the Vendée Globe 2012. A reorientation in the nautical field later, she discovered ocean racing and began racing in a Mini 6.50 with her partner. Then, in 2021, she joined the Fortinet – Best Western team. She’s totally in tune with the DNA of the project and the team: simplicity and performance.

Her essential at sea? A packet of candies. When you ask her what her best memory is, she tells you with shining eyes about her return delivery of the Transat Jacques Vabre in 2021. A dream, in her own words, for someone who never imagined she’d have the chance to set foot on an IMOCA one day.

For the record, I was the godfather of her Mini 6.50 in 2019, even before she joined the team. How fortuitous!
