ROLEX FASTNET RACE J+2

Ca va vite à bord de Fortinet – Best Western. On a du vent depuis le Fastnet et cela a continué de forcir au passage des Scilly jusqu’à 30 nds. Sous J3 et 1 ris, le bateau file et nous avons même fait une pointe à 31 nds. Ca décoiffe! Avec Greg, on reste très concentré car l’eau parcourt le pont et la visibilité est assez réduite. Greg scrute l’AIS et je gère la trajectoire avec les infos qu’il me donne tout en regardant dehors autant que possible. Depuis les Scilly nous sommes repassé sous J2 1ris. Au classement, on se maintient à la 11e place après avoir perdu une place avec Bureau Vallée mais gagné une autre sur Monnoyeur. Le vent devrait un peu mollir l’approche de Cherbourg que l’on espère atteindre en début de nuit.

🇬🇧 Things go fast aboard Fortinet – Best Western. We have wind from the Fastnet and it has continued to pick up when passing the Scillys (30 knots). Under J3 and 1 reef, the boat is spinning and we even peaked at 31 knots. With Greg, we stay very focused because the water runs across the deck and the visibility is quite reduced. Greg scans the AIS and I manage the trajectory with the information he gives me while looking outside as much as possible. From the Scillys we went back to J2 1 reef. In the ranking, we remain in 11th place after losing a place with Bureau Vallée but gaining another with Monnoyeur. The wind should decrease at the approach to Cherbourg, which we hope to reach at the start of the night.
