Retour à la base 2023 – Video summary

The second highlight of the 2023 season, the Retour à la Base marks the return to solo mode for the Vendée Globe IMOCA fleet. When Romain presented the race to the press, he made it clear that it would be a tough one. Difficult because it follows on quickly from the Transat Jacques Vabre, difficult and unusual to be racing in the return direction from the West Indies to Brittany, and also difficult to arrive in Lorient harbor at the time of Santa Claus and the end-of-year festivities. So, tired and injured, but delighted with his 10th place, Romain brings his 2023 season aboard the IMOCA Fortinet – Best Western to a close. Relive this Return to Base 2023 in full.
