Top 10

The final day of the “Retour à la base” race was complicated for Romain Attanasio, with a head injury and the pressure of Pip Hare all the way to the finish. In the end, Romain crossed the finish line in 10th position on the IMOCA Fortinet – Best Western. It took him 10 days, 21 hours and 20 minutes to sail from Fort-de-France to Lorient. Only 21 minutes separate him from Pip Hare.

“I’m very happy to have arrived. It’s the only time outside the Vendée Globe that we’ve finished another race in winter. And this time in Lorient! It’s just great. Pip Hare wasn’t far away, and we’d been following each other for days. Despite my injury and fatigue, the pressure was on. The pace of the transatlantic race was very intense, and the boats were really uncomfortable. So to finish the season in the top 10 is great! Thanks to everyone for following the race, to my team and to the whole Retour à la Base organization. »
